Music for the Weekend || Woodkid - Run Boy Run

Honestly I think it is time to move my “Music for the Weekend” series back to netzgeist.org. If you are interested in my older posts, please refer to my list at Google Drive.

Woodkid “Run Boy Run” from WOODKID on Vimeo.

I stumbled across Woodkid in September 2012, found his wonderful video “Iron”1 within a post of Cici Mici (if I remember correctly). And now again: great music in combination with powerfull pictures. It seems that Woodkid was inspired from Maurice Sendak’s masterpiece “Where the Wild Things Are”2. I wish you all a great and relaxing weekend!

Lyrics

Run boy run! This world is not made for you
Run boy run! They’re trying to catch you
Run boy run! Running is a victory
Run boy run! Beauty lays behind the hills

Run boy run! The sun will be guiding you
Run boy run! They’re dying to stop you
Run boy run! This race is a prophecy
Run boy run! Break out from society

Tomorrow is another day
And you won’t have to hide away
You’ll be a man, boy!
But for now it’s time to run, it’s time to run!

Run boy run! This ride is a journey to
Run boy run! The secret inside of you
Run boy run! This race is a prophecy
Run boy run! And disappear in the trees

Tomorrow is another day
And you won’t have to hide away
You’ll be a man, boy!
But for now it’s time to run, it’s time to run!

Tomorrow is another day
And when the night fades away
You’ll be a man, boy!
But for now it’s time to run, it’s time to run!
